1st Assistant Camera: Michael Tien
Michael Tien
Michael began making his first films while attending high school. He wrote, directed, shot, edited and had a small part in a short film that was considered the best in his class. While attending CSUN, Michael worked as Director of Photography on the widely recognized short film Through a Lens Darkly. He was also the D.P. on his next 16mm film, In the Moment. He has also worked as gaffer, key grip, and dolly grip on several films, including Jimmy Browning's 16mm film, Fall From Grace, and a short project of Prof. Hoggan's that was shot by Prof. Ollis. Michael was accepted into the film production option under the cinematography emphasis and continues to be involved in the CSUN film community working as assistant camera, cinematographer, and various other roles, as well as assisting on senior film projects such as Barrio Thief. His goal is to make films that touch people and make a difference.
