Tamar Kagan
Tamar was born in Israel to Jewish immigrants from Latvia. Her family were one of the first group of immigrants allowed to leave the Soviet Union in the early 1970's. She spent her childhood in San Francisco, where she discovered acting at the age of 12, when she played Snoopy in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown". Tamar received her Bachelor Of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from New York University. After graduating, Tamar co-founded Flip Side Theatre, a multi media theatre company, and co-created and starred in "Frack To Bunt", and adult-ation of "The BFG" by Roald Dahl. Tamar went on to perform her award winning solo character sketches at comedy clubs all over in New York City, and wrote a one-woman show, "How To Marry A Rich Jewish Man" that incorporated her zany characters.
Tamar discovered a passion for film in 2003, when she played a supporting role in the award winning film, "Black Prince", inspired by the life of Russian poet Alexandr Pushkin. Aspiring to turn her dream into a reality, she moved Los Angeles in 2004, to pursue a career in film and television. In 2006 Tamar co-wrote, produced and starred in a short film, "Good Luck In Her Eye", which screened at The LA Shorts Fest, the Cannes International Short Film Corner, and the Liberty Film Festival. Tamar is thrilled and inspired to be part of this poignant and powerful film.
